Hey there, my delightful wanderers!
Guess who officially applied for a passport today? That’s right, your beloved Aunty Christine! Cue the drumroll, confetti, and overly excited dance moves!
It’s true—I’m gearing up for a grand adventure: trading in my cozy little nest (that I’ve lovingly occupied since December 2015) for something a bit more…well, mobile. That’s right, I’m hitting the open road, living the glorious RV life, and planning to explore every quirky corner of this great country.
But don’t pack your bags just yet—I’ll be setting off once I officially retire from the university, which is coming up in just a few short years. I can already imagine it: morning coffee overlooking majestic mountains, afternoon strolls in charming towns, evenings parked alongside beaches or tucked into lush, forested campsites. And when I’ve had my fill of local adventures (and perhaps an amusing run-in or two with raccoons or overly friendly squirrels), I’ll be setting sights even further—to places far beyond our borders!
Speaking of beyond our borders, my passport application today wasn’t for RV life—I’ve got international adventures in the works, too! Oscar and I are planning a trip to El Salvador, and that’s just the beginning. There are so many other countries on our list, and I can’t wait to share those journeys with you as well. Whether it’s road-tripping across the U.S. or hopping on a plane to new cultures, this next chapter of my life is all about adventure and exploration!
As I start to picture life on wheels, I can’t help but think of all the delightful challenges I’ll face along the way. There’s the fine art of backing into a campsite without flattening the shrubbery (or anyone’s mailbox). And let’s not forget learning how to store an entire wardrobe in a space no bigger than a shoebox—though honestly, who needs more than comfy pajamas and sandals when exploring nature’s greatest hits?

Of course, I’ll need plenty of tips from my fellow RV enthusiasts. I’m already diving into travel blogs, collecting route suggestions, and making lists of must-see landmarks and hidden gems. I’m also looking forward to connecting with new friends on the road, swapping stories and sharing laughs around the campfire. After all, it’s not just the places you go but the wonderful people you meet along the way that make the adventure truly memorable.
I’ll also be sure to share every hilarious misstep and incredible discovery right here with you, my cherished followers. From unexpected detours to charming roadside diners, you’ll get the full scoop. I’m certain there will be plenty of giggles and possibly even a few life lessons along the way (mostly involving patience, navigation skills, and how to politely negotiate campground bathroom etiquette).
This plan might seem ambitious, but life’s too short for anything less than grand, whimsical adventures. So buckle up, my dear friends, because soon enough, your Aunty Christine will be bringing you stories from roads less traveled, campsites less known, and possibly from some delightfully misadventurous detours along the way.
Stay silly, stay adventurous, and always chase your joy!
XOXO, Aunty Christine
